Spreading Holiday Gratitude

This holiday season I want to share the joy of being greatful for all the amazing people that encompass us. A lot of people are stuck in this isolated headspace which is not inline with the holiday spirit. I belive that we should use these few cold and cozy weeks to express how grateful we are for those around us.

Getting caught up in life and its troubles we tend to forget the importance of family and friends. Having someone to lean on when you are going through rough patches of life is a blessing some people don't have. So call up that friend/parent/cousin who helped you out in some way and just tell them how grateful you are to have them. Maybe a foreign concept to you but trust me they will appreciate it. A few nice words go a long way. Maybe they just needed to hear that.

Be grateful for the people who shared great times with you. People tend to focus on the people who are present in their bad times but what about those who helped us create good times? Those long conversations late into the night, a simple coffee to catch up on each other's lives, a Thanksgiving dinner with the whole family together, that one crazy story everybody proudly talks about or that joke that made you smile the other day. So many people forget that those small moments in time seem insignificant but are actually equally as important.

We all have that person that we used to hang with but because of life you got seperated and don't hear much from eachother. Why not call him up and see whats he been up to. If that's to demanding why not try sending a message? Anything is good as long as you find a way to tell them you are thankful.

What I'm trying to say is reflect a little bit on your experiences this year. Notice the people that make a part of you thrive and thank them. Get in the habit of being grateful and expressing it to others. Not only does that bring you up when you're feeling down but the people around you as well. Gratefulness is a habit for your mind and soul. In modern times we often lose sight of our mental wellbeing. Taking the time to actively set aside time to be thankful and recording it truly helps out. Hope this post inspired a few people to be mindful or helped someone. Cheers, and I wish you all a happy Christmas.
