I am so overwhelmingly grateful for my parents
It’s incredible. From the moment I was born, they cared for me—even long before that. That one plushie they got me while my mom was pregnant showed me that, even when I didn’t exist yet, there were people who couldn’t wait for me to come into this world.
I had so many conflicts with them. So many fights. So much pain we caused each other simply because we couldn’t understand one another. But I’ve started to realize that our parents are also just kids in their own way. They can only give us what they know, what they believe is right. They’re just doing their best, living life for the first time, too.
Family is such a bizarre but fascinating concept. It’s a privilege to have it. Parents are a privilege. And I am so deeply grateful because I know there are people out there who wish they had parents like mine—people who care about them. It’s such a beautiful thing to have in life.
