Grateful for the opportunity via /r/gratitude

Today we went to the Celebration of Life event of a friend's mom. She had recently passed away and the friend lives in a different state.

I got the opportunity to be of service to the friend with the preparation and during the event. I also met a number of senior citizens who had left interesting lives.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be there for someone when they really needed help.

I am also grateful for this weekend which is different from the routine.
