Sister from another mister via /r/gratitude

I'm an only child. Always wanted a sister. When I met my husband and was introduced to his family I met his nephews girlfriend and she treated me like family from the start. I just love her so much. She's from Kentucky and her accent reminds me of home cuz I'm from Texas. I don't get to see her very often but we talk everyday. I've known her for five years and we've both grown so much since first meeting each other. She's watched me battle addiction and become sober. She's been there for me when I feel lost without my birth kids and missing my mom. I've watched her become a mother. She's killing it at being a mom, she really is, but I know she has a hard time seeing that the way that everyone around her sees it. My favorite thing about her is how she's not afraid to be herself, she's perfectly imperfect and I hope to be like her one day. She makes me feel like I'm ok in this world and, to me, that's everything. I'm grateful to finally have a sister. I never have to feel like I'm alone ever again no matter what happens. It's such an overwhelming feeling it brings tears of joy to my eyes just thinking about her.
