Head cold
This may come off as strange but I'm gonna post it anyway – at the beginning of the week I started feeling my throat hurt and it progressively got worse. Then when the sore throat felt like it was going away I felt the head/sinus pressure and then came the sneezing. Then whatever side I was laying on while I slept that nostril would get plugged up. If I laid on my back both nostrils would plug up. Breathing through my mouth caused my throat to dry out creating a tickle that would lead to a dry cough that would only cause more tickle. Last night while trying to sleep and going through these motions I couldn't help myself, I started giggling out loud and couldn't stop. 🤣 Maybe it's me losing it due to lack of sleep but I think it's more tied to my mental growth since beginning a gratitude practice and joining this community. I laid there giggling by myself in the dark and remembered just a few weeks ago when I was out of town visiting family for Christmas and caught a flu bug. Spent the last night of vacation vomiting and on the toilet with really bad stomach cramps. Compared to that flu bug this head cold is bliss. Then still laying there smiling I remembered how great it felt when I got over that flu bug. How much more energy I had and how much brighter life looked once I wasn't cramping and spending all day on the toilet. As if it was almost worth it to catch the flu for a few days just to experience the relief of it going away. Practicing gratitude is rewarding in so many ways and I'm learning this every day. I'm grateful for this head cold because at least it's not a flu bug and also because I know how much better I'll feel once I'm not sick anymore.
