I lost my wallet today… via /r/gratitude

I went to do some quick Christmas shopping during lunchbreak today at Target. I worked half day in office, half at home, so stopped on my way home.

I paid for my stuff so I know I had my wallet then. But when I get home, I go to empty my pockets and my wallet was no where to be seen. I scoured the car and my garage where I'd walk into the house from my car. No sign of it.

I went back to Target and scoured the parking lot and checked the checkout line and at the customer service desk, and no wallet.

I went home anxious and defeated.

However, when I got back home, I went to my front door to grab a few packages that were delivered, and lo and behold, there was my wallet. I was like WTF!?

I have a door cam so reviewed it to see what happened. I noticed a dude came up, rang the doorbell, had my wallet in his hand. Then he walked away because nobody was home. Then 15 minutes later my neighbor stopped by, knocked and rang the doorbell. Nobody home, so she left my wallet underneath the packages. This all happened during the time I went back to Target to look for my wallet.

I have faith in humanity that some random dude took the time to drive to my home to deliver my wallet. It was intact. Everything was there. I wish I was there when he showed up because I would have given him the cash in my wallet. Not much, there's like $35 in there, but he deserved that and more.

I'm grateful, but also disappointed I didn't get a chance to thank the dude in person. Thank you random dude. I appreciate you. You have restored some of my faith in humanity.
